The girl scouts were outside the grocery store on the same day that my new book arrived in the mail... For that past 15 years I have suffered from migraines. In the early years I took onset medication in the form of pills and injections. As the years progressed I was put on daily medication. I didn't fair well on my western treatment plan and with the help of an amazing acupuncturist weened off the drugs. Over the last few years I have managed my migraines with diet, not over exercising, natural supplements, and CBD oil. I have heard great things about The Plant Paradox and the ability to cure autoimmune diseases through diet. I'm excited to dive in. I will keep you posted on what I discover. Sadly, I don't think girl scout cookies are allow.
I am a yoga professor. This past weekend I started in my new role as Supporting Faculty of 90 Monkeys School under the guidance of my teacher, Amy Ippoliti. I am more than a yoga teacher, I am a yoga professor. I have dreamt of being a professor for the majority of my life, and now, here I stand. I have always had big dreams, a destination in mind, if you will, but rarely do I take the time to acknowledge all that I have accomplished. I am trying to take pause in this moment- to look back on my journey and to truly honor how I got here. The path of yoga is not for the faint of heart; it requires courage, patience and perseverance. I am honored to live this life and to do this work. One last reflection and a request from you, as you will see when you swipe left, it says E-RYT 200 after my name. I finished the 500HR curriculum and passed my written exam SEVEN months ago! However, I must record a class and submit the video to Amy in order to receive my certificate. For the past SEVEN months I have told myself a story that I am not enough, that I cannot teach to pass... FEAR is holding me back. I need my community to hold me accountable; to encourage me to try! It will only make me a better teacher and that is my ultimate goal- to serve.
What does "fulfill the life of your dreams" mean to you? This week I have been deep down the rabbit hole of human desire. I have been researching the topic, contemplating, meditating, self-exprimenting, journaling, and of course, theming all of my class around desire. My conclusion- To desire is to live. Discernment around right desire can be tricky if you are not sure which voice to listen to, your head (ego) or your heart (truth). Then cultivating your heart's desire is a balance between willpower and patience. The best part, we ALL desire to be happy. Therefore, we are all in this together. Show up. The time is now. We are ready. Welcome to the deep end..
